Ep #1558
Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx ( www.JamieRoxx.us ) welcomes Brian “Uncle John” Boone, Author (Uncle John’s Know It All Bathroom Reader) to the Show!
(Click to go there)
● WEB: https://bathroomreader.com
The 38th annual Bathroom Reader from Uncle John and his team is filled with
brand-new stories, trivia, and laugh-out-loud facts to keep him on the edge of his seat.
Uncle John’s KNOW IT ALL Bathroom Reader—38th Edition
Whether he’s a fun dad, wise dad, fair dad or strong dad, he’s your dad and Father’s Day appreciation feels good.
With more than 16 million books in print since 1988, Uncle John’s Action-Packed Bathroom Reader will take longtime fans and new readers alike on a whirlwind world tour with stories that appeal to all sorts of dads-exploring the realms of history, sports, science and pop culture – with stories on the fastest pro football TD, to basketball’s first player to shatter an NBA backboard and the grossest tennis story ever!
Did you know that a famous ad campaign, Hall of Fame baseball career, common phase, and a classic rock song all have a little-known connection to Father’s Day?
What are some of the best sports stories to help dad become the most popular guy at the barbeque?
Dads love geography and quicky stories: For example, consider that there are 31 states with a Washington county, but Washington state isn’t one of them! Tell us some of the funny history of states and cities that were almost called something else.
Kids nowadays have it good! In fact, there are tons of channels, streaming services and the internet for content, but back in the day there used to be only 3 networks, cable TV brought hundreds with all different kinds of programming. Tell us about some of those failed and forgotten TV channels like SUMO TV which was sort of a precursor to YouTube?
Since we are in the thick of baseball season, tell us about the baseball plot to kill Castro?
We all have our favorite slang expressions. Can you share some of your Antarctica Slang?
What’s next for the Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader Institute? Is there a world out there that has yet to be mined for trivia and silly stories?
There are almost as many adventures both personal and professional in the life of Brian “Uncle John” Boone as there are fun facts in the average Bathroom Reader volume, the series to which he has been a contributor for more than two decades. Brian picked up a lot of fascinating knowledge and stories about the world around him from an early age, with a childhood spent reading voraciously, traveling, and watching lots of TV. He continued to absorb and retain interesting information when he learned how to share it in amusing ways as he studied journalism and went on to publish books of jokes, music, sports, and literature, as well as hilarious stuff for the likes of Funny or Die, Vulture, Mad, The New Yorker, The Onion, and Someecards. He even wrote a couple of stage musicals and a wacky sci-fi novel, developed major podcasts and radio shows, and showed off his Uncle John cred as a contestant on Jeopardy! He’s authored thousands of articles in the Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader series and edited offshoot titles including Fake Facts, Germophobia, Robotica, and Beer-Vana.
